Membership of PHA NSW is renewable annually on 1 July. Annual fees are:

– $150 for Professional Historian MPHA
– $90 for Professional Historian (Associate) APHA
– $65 Graduate Historian

Applying for membership

Membership of PHA NSW requires accreditation under a National Standard set by Professional Historians Australia. Find out more about membership on the Professional Historians Australia website.

Note that members joining in the last 3 months of the financial year will also be deemed to be paid up for the following financial year.

Applying to change membership level

To apply to change your accreditation of the PHA (NSW & ACT), send the following form and your supporting documentation to: or post to PHA Membership Officer, GPO Box 2437, Sydney, NSW 2001. The form is accepted as signed if it is sent directly from the applicant’s identified email.

Friends of the PHA

Due to requests from retiring members, we have recently instituted a new way to be part of the PHA (NSW & ACT). Our ‘Friends’ option allows retired or retiring members to stay in touch with the PHA, and also provides a continuing way to support the organisation.
