Dr Ian Willis is a professional historian with expertise in local studies, community history and community engagement. Trained in vocational education he has been pursuing his passion for history via a PhD and community history organisations. Maintaining academic links, Ian is an honorary fellow at the University of Wollongong. Recognition for his role in community history he was awarded an OAM for service to community history in 2019. Ian’s writing spans popular history to international academic journals. Committed to public history Ian delivers public lectures, media publications, conference papers, and media interviews.
