Margaret Blundell reports:
Despite the very wet and windy weather, the PHA CPD Newcastle excursion did eventually go ahead on Saturday 20 April, although the scheduled walk had to be changed to a drive-by. The PHA member who attended on that day braved the wind and rain on several occasions to get a closer look at some of the sites before another heavy shower sent us both hurrying back to the car.

On the following Saturday, 27 April, the tour was repeated. This time the weather was fine and sunny and the enthusiastic participant was a local tour guide who provided valuable feedback. Since then an opportunity has arisen to make further improvements to the walking tour and then market it professionally on a Walking Tours website. While it is still very early days I am looking forward to being able to reveal some of the Hidden Treasures of Colonial Newcastle to interested visitors and local people.
