Sam is a historian working in the Riverina area of New South Wales. She is currently employed at the Museum of the Riverina as a Museum Assistant.

Sam has completed heritage interpretation plans for industrial heritage sites, combining her love of history with her skills as a heritage practitioner to create interpretation plans that highlight the role of people in the industrial and working stories of the past.

She also works as a Heritage Consultant with NGH Environmental.


Area of Expertise

Sam is a social historian with a strong interest in the everyday lives of those in the past. Her work focuses on uncovering the human element in industrial and engineering heritage. She attempts to move beyond the focus on machinery to highlight the role of human agency and working lives that are entwined in the narrative of the industrial past.

Sam is also interested in the history of railways and cemetery interpretation.
