Biography
Dr Caroline Cosgrove is a Professional Historian who has worked as a historian/heritage consultant in the ACT, South Australia and NSW since the 1990s. While her interests focus on the built environment, she also engages in general historical research. In addition, she has conducted interviews for oral history projects, and prepared material for websites, tour brochures, and many reports, the majority involving research and assessment of places for state or local heritage listing. Much of her work has been in collaboration with other historians, architects, archivists, planners and archaeologists; on occasion, she has worked with community groups. Her clients are from both the government and private sectors. A Fellowship in 2009 at the University of South Australia on Art Deco architecture resulted in her publication, Moving to the Modern: Art Deco in South Australian Architecture - a revised edition was recently produced. Her PhD thesis was about the collaborative role of the architectural firm HASSELL. As a heritage specialist, her work has included Conservation Management Plans, Heritage Studies, Heritage Assessments and Heritage Impact Reports. This entailed researching, writing, assessing and editing historical information.
