Biography
Christine Yeats is an experienced archivist and historical researcher whose extensive professional career spanned over 35 years, much of it with the NSW State Archives where she was responsible for managing access to the State’s archives, outreach and public programs. Her areas of expertise include reviewing archives and records management programs and she has undertaken a number of consultancies in this area. Her other skill is conducting research projects using original sources, in particular the NSW State archives. Christine is an excellent communicator and the course of her career she contributed to a wide range of publications and spoken at national and international conferences. Her own research projects including the history of Australia’s Romani, colonial women silk growers and the botanist Sarah Hynes. She has published articles and papers based on this work and she continues to speak at conferences, seminars and workshops.
