Biography
Jeannine Baker is a professional historian with extensive experience in the media and museums sectors as a writer, researcher, oral history interviewer, producer and curator. Her PhD was awarded the University of Melbourne's Dennis-Wettenhall Prize for Australian History, and she was also awarded the Ferguson Prize for labour history for her research on Australian women in journalism between the wars. Her first book Australian Women War Reporters: Boer War to Vietnam was published in 2015. Jeannine was co-editor of the '100 Voices that Made the BBC: Pioneering Women' website, for the BBC and the University of Sussex. In 2021 she was awarded the FIAT Media Studies Grant for a project about women in early Australian television
