Richard Stobo has been teaching Modern History at an independent boys' school in Sydney for more than 30 years. He training has a had a particular focus on Australian colonial, sporting, social, and military history. His PhD from UNSW (Canberra) [ADFA] examined the operations of the Australian Corps on the Western Front during the final months of 1918, while his Honours thesis examined the development of cricket and nationalism in Australia during the 19th Century (Richard also played cricket for NSW in the Sheffield Shield), and his Masters thesis considered the militarisation of boys' education in Sydney in the decades before the First World War. An experienced communicator, Richard has presented at a number of conferences both in Australia and overseas.
