Biography
Allison O’Sullivan has a Doctorate (University of New South Wales) and has held various roles as a university tutor, museum guide, museum and heritage sector public engagement programmer, and social history curator and researcher for the past 15 years. Allison is an experienced historian who enjoys inspiring personal connections to history. In 2022 she completed an honorary fellowship with the State Library of Queensland on the diaries of colonial women migrants. She is experienced with using genealogical sources, government records and archives and material culture. Allison has created exhibitions and published on the history of women, convicts, and the working poor. She most enjoys writing in public history, for a general readership. She is currently working as a freelance researcher, transcriber, writer, and consultant and welcomes enquiries.
